Nestled within 30 acres of protected bushland, Eco.Abode Gardens is a native, off-grid sanctuary fed entirely by harvested water from tanks and dams. Off-grid doesn’t mean disconnected; smart home and garden features quietly manage much of the property.
Bushfire resilience shapes much of what you’ll see – rock landscaping, sand mulch, thoughtful planting and practical systems designed to work with the tough realities of Central Victoria.
The garden has been through a full transformation over the past five years — from a well-loved but overgrown cottage garden into the native landscape you’ll see today.
Designed, built and maintained by the owners with no landscape design or horticulture background – just curiosity, a good bit of grit and a willingness to figure it out as they go.
Still young and growing — this summer’s drought tested the garden, but the plants are coming back and native resilience is showing its potential. If you visited two years ago, you’ll see how far it’s come. If you’re visiting for the first time, welcome to the middle of the story.
